Bob was born in Saranac Lake, New York.  He attended schools in Utica, NY, and college at Syracuse University majoring in physics and chemistry.

While working for the Air Force as an electronics engineer in communications and radar technology, he took his first classes in art.  He attended courses in the evening, receiving an Associate Degree in Art from Prince George's Community College.  Upon completion of his degree, he completed numerous workshops with Stephen Quiller, Larry Chappelear and Charles Movalli.  He Introduced many children to the art of painting and now conducts an art class for seniors.

Bob prefers Acrylic painting because of the flexibility of the medium.  He has been a member of the West End Gallery and the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, Capitol Hill Gallery in Washington, DC, the Mattawoman Creek Art Center and the Port Tobacco Art Guild in LaPlata, MD.  He is also currently a member of the Carroll County Art Council.
