This workshop explore the creative and professional process of illustrating an author’s manuscript, from initial concept through final artwork. Topics included interpreting the manuscript, developing characters, creating thumbnails and storyboards, planning page layouts, and using composition, color, and visual storytelling to complement the written text. The workshop also address collaboration between the author and illustrator, including communicating ideas, presenting sketches, managing revisions, and preparing final illustrations for publication. Additional discussion covered professional considerations such as contracts, copyright, licensing, pricing, deadlines, and preparing digital files for print. The workshop provide practical insight into the illustrator’s role in transforming an author’s words into a cohesive and engaging visual story.
