In this course, students will focus on the foundational skill of drawing from observation. The basic art elements of value (light and dark) and form will be the focus of instruction. Students will practice basic value (blending, hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, etc.) before applying them to contoured form drawings. Concepts of basics of composition, material usage, and artistic process will be used to create a finished work of art. Students will utilize learned drawing techniques to realistically draw a finished fall themed still life.

About the Instructor
Andrea Milito earned a Master of Education as well as many other art, education, and architectural degrees plus holds an advanced teaching certificate in fine arts K-12. She has experience teaching both adults and children in the creation and history of visual and performing arts. She dabbles in all 2D and 3D visual art mediums. She has been involved with community theatre, both on and off the stage. She is also a U.S. Army veteran, where her teaching career began.
