Required Supplies:
• Instructor will provide all cyanotype supplies.
• Students must submit one clear higher contrast photo should be emailed to instructor prior to 10/3.
• Students are HIGHLY encouraged to bring smaller flat objects with interesting shadows.
• Small flat object ideas:
  – Botanicals (flowers, leaves, seeds, etc.)
  – Household objects (keys, buttons, paperclips, chains fork, etc.)
  – Fibers with holes (lace, crochet, netting, etc.)

Cyanotypes aka “sun prints” predate modern photography and are a fun blending of art and science for kids and adults alike. Cyanotypes use photo (light) sensitive chemicals (potassium ferricyanide and ferric ammonium citrate) to create interesting deep Prussian blue prints. Students will explore composition and the chemical process of cyanotype printing. Students will create and take home multiple prints using found object arrangement, blackout painting, and inverted images.
