3 Photographers Exhibit

An exhibit featuring fine art photographs by Julie Cavallio, Herb Kemme, and Eric Plump will be showing in the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s west gallery. The exhibit opens May 27 and will be on display through June 28. Art by Guild members will also be on display in the front gallery during this time. Be sure to visit our new “Card Corner” when you come to the gallery.

Julie Cavallio

Julie Cavallio is a photographer from Maryland who grew up in the Long Green Valley of Baltimore County. Her work focuses on wildlife and nature, reflecting a lifelong connection to the outdoors. She earned her B.A. in Art and Design with a concentration in Digital Imaging from Towson University in 2022. Julie works across digital, analog, and alternative photographic processes.

Herb Kemme

Herb has been enjoying and practicing amateur photography for over 60 years.  Over much of that time his work was 35 mm film based black and white, printed with silver halide chemistry in his own darkroom.  Today he is working in a totally digital environment.  He prints his

own photos to allow for optimal control of the final result.  His work varies between photo realism and abstraction in an effort to achieve the same emotional sense as when he observed the scene.  Many of his photographs are opportunistic having been taken during his "getting fresh air" walks.

Eric Plump

After a long and fulfilling career in technical fields, I’ve recently stepped into retirement – a chapter that’s finally given me the freedom to fully explore my longstanding passion for photography. With life’s practical demands mostly behind me, I now find joy in capturing the world through my lens, drawn to everything from striking landscapes to candid street scenes.
